Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

Why is my tile saved but not my carpet?

SERVPRO of Vigo County is not only certified through our corporate offices, we are also certified by a third party company. They are known as the IICRC and major insurance brands back their certifications and methods for restoring home. Research has shown that tile, not being organic, can easily be disinfected after storm water floods a basement. However, a carpet and pad are too porous and soak up too much of the contaminated water leaving behind bacteria even after being sprayed by a disinfectant.

Remove the Carpet and Save the Tile

The carpet will have to be replaced after flood water damage but the tile will be disinfected, cleaned, and restored.
